Gary Bertram Art

Welcome to the website of Kentucky Artist Gary Bertram. He is an exhibiting member of both the Kentucky Guild and the Kentucky Crafted, and was recently nominated by the Kentucky Arts Council to the Southern Artistry Organization. Artists with this organization are nominated based on the quality of their work by state arts agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This online artist registry is designed to showcase the South's artistic diversity and excellence by spotlighting outstanding artists in these nine Southern states. Gary is also an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.

Gary has traveled to Central America, Africa, and throughout the U.S. to photograph and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. His oil and acrylic paintings, and charcoal or graphite drawings stylistically favors a detailed realism. His compositions demonstrate a masterful understanding of light and shadow, creating the right balance of warmth, expression, and anatomic integrity.

In addition to his wildlife and nature series, Gary is also accomplished at creating contemporary abstract art of all sizes. His latest creations have been works that depict Biblical events and expressions from both the Old and New Testament.
